Dear friends: Ana Belén Montes, the courageous Puerto Rican woman imprisoned for protecting Cuba from the US policies of aggression, has been operated because of breast cancer. She is now recovering from the surgery. Many friends around the world are writing letters of support to her. Although she is not allowed to receive mail, the message of thousands of letters arriving to her prison door would surely be a powerful one. Reclamo por Ana Belén Rolando López del Amo Una mujer amante, en el silencio, protegió con su piel a los que amaba. No buscaba la gloria, no buscaba lo que no fuera paz a su conciencia, prevenir la agresión contra sus prójimos, a los que quiso amar más que a sí misma. Sólo una santa, sí, un alma noble padece y lucha por el bien de todos, por la justicia que los pobres piden. Hija de un pueblo atado todavía optó por quebrantar las rejas, los cerrojos, y defender la luz que amanecía en la isla hermana en sueños y en historia. Con mujeres así se hace el mundo de solidaridad fraterna, el mundo nuevo anunciado y pendiente de llegar. Ahora ella, desde las prisiones, paga su amor al bien, a sus hermanos.
